Questions about products
I live next to the sea, are the products resistant to corrosion?
In these locations we recommend using only stainless steel or aluminum components. Products with treated surface finishes may rust.
What type of stainless steel do Mokari finishes use?
Although there are a wide variety of types of stainless steel, our products use type AISI 304. This material is classified as austenitic, whose structure is achieved through an alloy of iron, manganese, carbon, phosphorus, silicon, sulfur, nickel. and a high chromium content (18%). A composition that makes it very resistant to corrosion and oxidation. AISI 304 stainless steel is economical and easy to clean, resistant to heat, low temperatures and adequately withstands deformation, among other things.
Is aluminum stainless?
Yes, the aluminum we use is rust-resistant. We work with Aluminum Alloy (7075), which is known for its high corrosion resistance and exceptional durability. Although not “rust-proof” in the same sense as stainless steel, this type of aluminum forms a protective oxide layer when it comes into contact with air, effectively protecting it from corrosion. Additionally, Alloy 7075 is used in demanding applications such as the aerospace industry, ensuring that our carabiners are lightweight, durable, and perfect for long-term use in harsh conditions.
What is the difference between BioThane® and Coated Webbing?
BioThane® and Coated Webbing are very similar materials, used for the same purposes. BioThane® is a registered trademark that stands out for its special properties, giving it a prestige and slightly higher quality compared to other synthetic coated webbing. However, at Mokari we select only the highest quality materials, whether it is BioThane® or other materials, ensuring that each product offers high durability and excellent performance.
Which weighs more, BioThane® or Hexa?
Both materials are very light and there is no perceptible difference in weight between them.
How can I tell if BioThane® is authentic and not a replica material?
The term BioThane® is a registered trademark and can only be used to refer to the original material. At Mokari, we use authentic BioThane®, purchased directly from suppliers authorized by the manufacturer, to guarantee the quality of our products. You can consult the manufacturer's certificate of authenticity , which details the strict quality controls to which this material is subjected.
My dog pulls a lot, what leash should I use?
For greater comfort on walks if your dog pulls a lot on the leash, choose products made with BioThane® Beta or hexa webbing, such as the Pro Zenit Leash , Light Leash or Basic Leash . These materials are soft and facilitate a better grip and more comfortable handling. You can also design your own leash with these materials at Mokari Custom . However, at Mokari we always recommend that our clients put themselves in the hands of dog training professionals if they need specific help.
Do Mokari straps cause abrasion?
A strong and unexpected pull from our dog can cause the leash to slip through our hands causing discomfort due to the friction of the material, but our PVC products are much less aggressive to the skin than nylon straps or ropes from other manufacturers.
What does the term "strength" refer to in material specifications?
When we talk about strength, we are referring to the maximum force or stress that a material can withstand before breaking, also more technically referred to as the "breaking load". It is a key indicator of a material's strength, and refers to the point at which fracture occurs when an increasing load is applied.
How is the durability of products checked?
At Mokari we make sure that all our suppliers are trustworthy and guarantee that all their components and materials have passed the necessary quality and resistance tests, providing us with all the technical documentation that we offer you in detail for each product in our catalogue. If this is not the case, we do not establish commercial ties with them.
